Public entrance exam for English in Primary Education.

The exam has two parts.
1. The first is an essay written entirely in English from the 25 subjects currently included in the syllabus. The number of options depends on the year and the region but could be a minimum of two and a maximum of three as has been the case in 2008.
2. The second part of the exam consists of an oral defence of the didactic programme which is designed to check the teaching ability of the candidate.
It is necessary to present both th e didactic programme and one didactic unit.

This programme is based on a year’s teaching in any level of this speciality and candidates must specify the general and specific o bjectives, contents, assessment criteria and methodology to be used as well as their proposals for dealing with pupils with special educational needs.
The didactic unit must be defended orally in front of the tribunal and will be chosen at random from the units included in the didactic programme.
Nevertheless, candidates will be giv en various options.

In this unit, candidates must specify learning objectives, contents and the learning and teaching activities to be carried out in the classroom.
We would now like to describe the methodology which we will use in the preparation of this speciality.
